Shiva has always had a passion for animals. An interest in nutrition arose from her first cat, Ollie (pictured), who she adopted as a teenager. Ollie was a fussy Persian Chinchilla who refused anything but a diet of exclusively chicken and fish. The diet was the result of poor advice from the former owner which had been maintained until intervention was no longer possible. This led to serious health problems with Ollie. It was through the suffering of Ollie that Shiva truly saw the importance of nutrition, where Shiva has wanted to share with others ever since.
Shiva pursued her interest in animal nutrition in her bachelor degree and specialised masters degree. At the end her studies, Shiva found that there were no suitably qualified businesses providing dietary advice on small animals. This has led to the founding of Sydney Animal Nutrition and the rapidly growing business it has become.
